External Garden – Wilson Backyard
The Wilsons had a bare, dry backyard and dreamed of a peaceful, low-maintenance garden to relax in and grow fresh herbs. Their outdoor space lacked both structure and character.
We set out to turn their underutilized yard into a lush, layered garden space that felt both intimate and functional. The plan involved creating zones for sitting, walking, and planting, all while keeping water conservation and ease of maintenance in mind. The Wilsons wanted a space that felt like an extension of their home — somewhere they could unwind every day.
The transformation was dramatic. We brought in native drought-tolerant plants, laid flagstone pathways, built raised garden beds, and added soft, ambient lighting for evening ambiance. The Wilsons now enjoy a personal oasis right outside their door — perfect for both quiet mornings and weekend gatherings.
